[2022] FAQ

General FAQ:

When is the event?

March Caprice will be held from March 26th to March 27th, 2022, with an additional Community Coliseum on March 25th. The event schedule will be created when all presenters are finalized on March 19th and published on our website. If you are a participant, you will be contacted with a time-slot proposal on February 26th.

Where/When can I see the schedule?

We will post the schedule to the website as soon as we have it finalized the week of March 19th, so you may want to check back often. Any major website updates will be announced on our Twitter and emailed to all approved participants.

Who is involved in the event?

The event staffers are listed on the organizers page. All of the participants will be revealed when the schedule is officially released.

What types of entries are suitable?

Any type of talent is welcome! If you would like some inspiration, take a look at the list of last year’s events.

Where can I sign up?

You can sign up using these forms. Sign-ups for music and videos are closed. Written work and art sign-ups are due on March 12th, 2022. After those dates, submissions will be closed.

May I submit more than one entry?

Absolutely. However, you are not guaranteed to have all of your submissions approved. We are only allowing one entry for the artists’ alley. However, you may have multiple pieces if you combine them into the same image.

You may submit as much video/music content as you’d like. If you submit more than one video idea, the cumulative total for runtime must be under one hour. Your videos will also be scheduled in the same timeslot.

However, if you want to do something for the artists’ alley and a video separately, you are more than welcome to do that as long as they follow the guidelines above.

How can I watch the event?

The scheduled content will be hosted on each of the individual presenters’ platforms throughout March 26th and 27th. Additionally, presentations will be cross-promoted through our Twitter, Twitch, and Youtube channels, as well as on this website during the event day.

March Caprice primarily exists to promote creators in the KINGDOM HEARTS community, so our intention is to direct audiences to creator channels rather than a singular March Caprice hosting account.

Is there a length minimum or maximum for my submission?

There is no minimum requirement for your presentation. At maximum, your content must fit within an hour. Multi-hour presentations (game streams / live performances / etc) must be reduced to fit into the allotted time slot.

Is this event NSFW / 18+?

If March Caprice were a movie, we’d give it a rating of PG-13. Participants and content may use some coarse language, but we encourage folks to be as family-friendly as possible. In general, you can apply common sense to the content you make. If you are unsure whether your submission is permissible, please contact us directly. Keep in mind that we reserve the right to reject a submission for any reason.

My usual content/merchandise is NSFW / 18+; is that a problem?

We ask that if this is the case for your usual content, then during your introduction, please inform the viewers that your usual content is for mature audiences, but you are making an exception for this event.

If this is the case for your usual merchandise, then please let us know when you submit your work and we will include that information with your shop description on the Artist Alley page.

Please keep in mind that we reserve the right to reject any submissions that do not satisfy our Terms of Service.

Do you take donations?

This is a no-cost, non-profit event so we don’t have any funds to maintain. Instead, we highly encourage you to support the participants through their individual channels in whatever way you feel most comfortable.

Live Streamed Events FAQ

May I feature copyrighted music?

As far as copyrighted music: because your work will be featured on your own channel(s), we’d encourage you to abide by those platforms’ upload terms. Any copyright infringement or action taken by copyright content owners will still be your responsibility–our role will be promoting your work during the day of the event.

Artist’s Alley FAQ

May I submit more than one piece for showcasing?

Absolutely. However, only one piece will be selected for the showcase. Collages are acceptable as long as it’s one image. If you submit multiple images, we will not make it into a collage for you.

How will the “artist alley” be presented?

Like an Artist Alley at a convention, we will be setting up a space on this website to feature artists and fan creators. This will be a page full of examples of various artists’ and creators’ work with links to their social media, commission pages, and stores. If you would like to be featured in our Artist Alley, please get in touch!

What sizes/formats are needed for the promotional piece?

Any size is fine. We also prefer it to be in .JPG or .PNG file formats.

May I present my NSFW/SFW shipping art?

Nein, não, non, nei, nicht, neigh; NO this is not allowed! If March Caprice were a movie, we’d give it a rating of PG-13. We encourage this event to be as family-friendly as possible. Addional FAQ

What has changed from last year?

-We now have a Youtube/Twitch that will feature a rotating carousel of all of the art submissions, as well as be a main “hub” for all the events going on.

-Live streams are now going to be limited to either a 1 hour, or 30-minute time slot. After the time slot has passed, the stream will end. This way, people presenting after streams can get a benefit from their audiences too.

-We’re hosting an additional Community Day on Friday, March 25th. We’ll be hosting community-based events such as Kingdom Hearts Trivia, Oddly Specific Kingdom Hearts™Skribblio, Memory of Melody tournaments, and much more! More details on this will release with the schedule on March 19th.

-Writers welcome! We’ve opened up March Caprice to any fanfiction, essays, analyses, and any other written work you may want to submit.

-Our Discord server is now open to the public. Come join the chatter!
